Day #7:

Hour of Power

I wake up at 4:30 am most days. So did I today. The sky is dark. The earth is still. There are no movements anywhere, except the stirring of my dog who sleepily gets up to greet me and then goes back to sleep near where I’m sitting. He knows that I’m not going to take him out till I finish my morning routines. He’s a good-natured fellow who allows me my space.

This is a time for me and me alone; a time for me to stay still and dive deep; look within and see what direction my day should take. Along with a good 6 to 7 hours of sleep, this hour of silence, powers my whole day. I can’t imagine a life where I have to jump out of bed and run straight to work. Many people do it. I wonder why they don’t stop for a while and spend time with their self. Should I not be my own best friend? Best friends love to spend time with each other, don’t they? Are you spending enough time with yourself?

When you sit with yourself in silence, you are communicating within yourself and discovering more of you. You can discover what you truly, really want in life. You can discover what is important to you and what is not. Your purpose in life gets revealed to you and you can align your day to fulfil your ultimate goal and destiny.

You are the creator of your life. God lives within you and co-creates your life when you spend time with Him. Otherwise, we go with the flow and deal with whatever shows up in our life. Which is better; co-create or react? I prefer co-creation. That is why the first hour of the morning is important to me and my life.

I learnt this from Antony Robbins, the best teacher I’ve ever had for personal excellence and the world’s best peak performance coach. Many others have contributed to my inner peace and quest for personal excellence and I’m grateful to each one of them for caring to share through books, videos, audio books, seminars and workshops.

I’m a work-in-progress and putty in the hands of our Creator and these giant co-creators who resonate with my inner self to create my day and my life.

I thank the early morning hours that have forged my soul and my body to become who I am and directing me to who I am becoming.

  1. I am an early bird too. I read some place that the most successful people start their days early. Well, I go out running or cycling early. I love My Company.
